Anxiety is different for everyone, so not all of these methods will work, and there may be other, better ways to handle anxiety depending on the person.
- Talk to an adult. Anxiety is not something you have to face alone. There are adults who care about you and can get you the proper care
- See a psychiatrist, or a therapist. They have many helpful coping methods for anxiety and can provide you with many helpful resources.
- How to handle anxiety (and occasionally, panic) attacks: Via everyday health
- Take deep breaths, and focus on getting your heart rate down
- Try your hardest to push away negative thoughts, and replace them with reassuring ones.
- Step back and think about the reality of the situation that is causing you anxiety. Try to think about it logically, and work it out yourself.
- Handle the situation. If you need to leave or politely ask someone to stop doing something, do so. If a situation is causing you serious anxiety, talk to an adult.

- Educate yourself about anxiety and try to see what the person is experiencing. Anxiety is a complicated thing, and it is important that you don't rush in with any misconceptions.
- Ask the person what they need. In a time of crisis, they will need someone to help them, but it is important that you let them tell you what they need, if they can.
- Just be there. Sometimes people just need someone not to ask questions, but to be there. They may also be embarrassed. De-stigmatize the situation. Make sure they know that they are loved and that there is nothing to be ashamed of.
